Spring Break Get Away (Near Colorado)?

Any suggestions for a group of novice hikers from Nebraska to go on a 1 day hike to a base camp with a few options for day hikes away from camp. Just to have some fun and relax, possible fishing? Date Range: March 19th-23rd. Considered Big Horn Mountains near Buffalo, WY didn't know about weather though, also considering Upper New Mexico.

When you say novice, does this mean you have not done it before?

How about Northern California and the PCT? There you'll get ot experience beautiful weather along with the scenery to match..

The mountains of Colorado in March are most likely covered in several feet of snow. If you plan to go snowshoeing, awesome. If not, I'd go somewhere farther south.

Well, the high country in Colorado is snow covered. But below 8,000 feet it's not so bad. Trails are packed snow or clear. There are clearings to camp, mostly on the south side of the foothills. Thing is, March is probably the worst month for snow. People forget that when it's in the 60's in Feb.
