Ok...I have one!
Here on our mesa in North Central New Mexico, Georgia O'Keeffe Country, to be sure, there are thousands of rabbits! There are JackRabbits..and the more plentiful, but less famous CottonTailed Jacks!
These rabbits attract many..many Coyotes, Bob Cats, Birds of Prey and an occasional Mtn Lion here. BUT..by far ..the best 'Wabbit' hunters are our Red Heelers< Uncle Weezer and > Ruby..with her best trick ..begging for a treat upside down.
and the neighbor Aussie Sheppards!> Shasta Begging for a treat:
and Trigger..begging for a treat:
Shasta and Uncle Weezer watchin for a 'Wabbit':
Uncle Weezer'll move ahead...flushin um out of the most ...um interesting places (and he also take the rattler hits for this reason)...and Shasta and Trigger move behind and on his 'wings'.
When he flushes one..every now and again..it'll go right to either Trigger or Shasta..BUT ...every one inna while..it goes to..yup..Ruby..who..every time is Dear in the Headlights ...and twice..'wabbits' have leaped right over her head.
If they wanted..they could catch on a day! But as it is...usually one a month...and....they eat um..crunch..crunch. :0 ....while Ruby's mommy comforts her from the trauma of having been leaped over by a wild animal!!>
This is Uncle Weezer, Trigger and Shasta 'drinking' after eating thier share of 'wabbit':
Never fear! As the sun goes down on the mesa...there are 'wabbits' ...um...ah...creating more 'wabbits'...and..well..life goes on!The End

well, I suppose thats about bunnies. not quite what I was really looking for, but, hey, dogs will be dogs. Nice pictures by the way.
isnt the red heeler a variant of the australian cattle dog?
anyway, who has some cute little stories about happy prancing bunnies who do not get killed?

Yo!
Didjah know how bunnies choose their mates? Well, diggit!
Once I was camping on a bald top hillock.
thats right, a bald-topped hillock!
I was very quiet all night, but wide awake and checking out the local wildlife with pretty large aperture binocs. Down below me, in a small valley near my campsite, were bunnies. probably cottontails. they were up all night, running right at each other! then, just as they were about to collide, one would jump right up into the air and piss on the other one's head!
I swear it!
When I got home I looked it up! thats how they choose their mates!
Now, why didnt WE think of this??
:P
I love bunnies!

The Journey is the destination!
well, bunnies have a way of helping and befriending humanity at precisely the right moment. think about it... how many times have bunnies shown YOU the proper tunnel in which a tea party awaits? and theyre essential for mounting a rebellion against the awful mister farmer on good old fox's farm. and what the hell would tinky-winky and the other teletubbies do without them? you gotta hand it to the typical bunny. they really know whats important in life!
