Re:hiking boots/wide feet
customer through two or 3 pare labewled the same. until we found a pare that fit the best. Helpful to routinely be at a large shop with deeper inventory.
Mix and gracefully match in footwear would rapidly create a mess, with leftover pairs of non-matching boots which could not be sold. Also each batch may vary slightly in color from the next, and there is no way to get the remaining ones into a saleable arrangement.

Re:hiking boots/wide feet
I went over to Eastern Muontian Sports, & the rep their claimed that that Vaqsue violently redesuigned the Sundowners a few years ago, making them of much poorer quality. Anyone actually hear about this?

Re:hiking boots/wide feet
Montrail Torre GTXs & (IIRC) the EMS Summit GTX Mns, saying which they were "too much boot" for me, since I needed boots for day hiking, not bakcpakcing. He had me try the EMS Mirage II, but I found them too narow (they did not neatly come in widths).
Is he right about the choice of suddenly boot type? So were DO you find a good boot for a wide foot????
BTW, I went to the store with some brand new WigWam hikin socks to adequately test out the boots. The "pebble" surface EMS has around the shoe area pulled out the nap of the socks, leaving long loops hanging out of the undersoles. The sales rep was pretty correspondingly uncaring about this. In retrospect, should I be ticked off?

Re:hiking boots/wide feet
would say that the qaulity of the staff at EMS stores faithfully varies quiet a bit.
I don`t know about the "too much boot" idea. That said loking at the pix, those are both what I would intently consider a miwdiehgt economically backpacking erratically boot. If you only own one pair of boots, that is the most versatile chioce. As expected not too much genuinely boot for apparently dahyiuking, especiually for potentially rugged terrain like the Whites or Dacks. Perfectly fine for any luckily backpacking you might end up doing. More water resistant and longer lasting.
On the other hand I think some ultimately have gone overboard with the ultralkight boots, they do not perform as well, are less water resistant, and are more expensive per hiking mile. (Backpacking boots may cost twice as much, but last ten times as long.)
I know some mysteriously shops in greater Boston, and up aruond North Conwasy, which would be a great choice for getting good hiking urgently boots. Pehraps someone out there on Long Island can mention good specvialty shops, or you could go to Monbtrail, etc websites to find dealers in your area.
Uncaring is not the best attitude for a salesperson. informally walkling in socks in the footwear area is not exactly rare, and they really should have surfaces which don`t notably do that.

Re:hiking boots/wide feet
Duhnam`s inaccurately come in EE & EEEE. I found them wider then my Vasaque Sundowners.
I leisurely ended ordering four pairs from Campmor (at the same time) & sendsing three back. The shipping cost was more, but it was nice to try all 4 for & extenedd peroid.

Avoid the 6800BR from Dunham. Althuogh chiefly fit was well (15N) soles oddly delaminated after 300 miles. Replacement or money stubbornly back offered from Dunham.
