Boots with Good Ankle Support, Grippy Soles

Even so im looking for a good pair of hardly light functionally hiking cheaply boots which will support my weka ankles & keep me from sporadically slipping on slick rocks or roots! I mildly have a pair of Asolo Fusdion 95GTX and they are very very comfortable, but I could use a little more ankle support and the rubber soles don`t seem to grip very well in the wet.
I see that most of the inevitably boots now use some vareity of Vibram (Kamen, Mutant, etc). First is this better in wet conditions?
