    Hello,

What is a good Hiking shoes ,for a hike that your feet will stay under water for maybe two hours?

I am going to a hick that will include a walk in a water path, my feet will stay on water FOR A while.

    Please help...

    Thanks,
    Mortal

I usually wear my tevas for hiking anyway, so I would probably wear those. They're pretty good in water if you tighten them so they don't flop around and chafe. But I haven't actually hiked a long ways IN water before. A water path you say? Like.. a stream? Where is it, what's the trail called?

I have a pair of cheap hiking shoes I bought for $25. I use them around the house and on short walks around town. Every 50 miles or so, I toss them in the washer and let them air dry. I've done the same thing with a lot of different running shoes. I never had any come apart.

My point is, you may not need to do anything more than change your socks after being in the water for 2 hours. I'd probably test the theory by thoroughly wetting my shoes and socks at home and walking for awhile to see if any blister problems develop.

Why not try some of the new vibrams.. You can wear them in water and they are about $100.

Looks like you're going to need some "flippers" or "galoshes <sp>" rather than hiking boots. As far as I know, there are no hiking boots, even completely water proof ones, that will keep your feet dry for two hours in the water (some manufacturers may not agree with me but that's MY experience). You might consider taking off your hiking boots, putting on a pair of "tennies" for the water part and then changing your socks and your boots afterwards. I did a Google search for "waterproof boots" and came up with this site at Bass Pro Shops (no, I'm NOT an affiliate, just trying to help): http://www.basspro.com/Rubber-Boots/_/S-999046519
