National Arboretum Part 5 - International Pavilion/Curator's collection

    Hello again,

Here is the second-to-last set of pictures I'll be posting from the National Arboretum - this time it's the International Pavilion and Curator's collection. The trees here come from, well, anywhere! There aren't that many, so I only chose five to show here.

First is this wonderful Trident Maple, from 1895. I feel like I took this photo at example the right time of year - the color gradient in the leaves is astounding.

Next we have what looks (to me, anyway) like a Maple, but is in fact a Sweet Gum from 1975.

Here is a Japanese Maple from 1906, accompanied by a bird perched on a rock.

This Cedar Elm is 28-years-old and, coincidentally, so am I.

Mystery tree! Be the first to name this tree and allow me to move on to the amazing North American collection!

Is that a witch-hazel? Those look like their characteristic flowers.

He shoots he scores! Yeah I guess that one was pretty easy. Not as easy as Maple, though, which is what almost everything else was

Well, fine then, skelter! And totally, orchidman! I didn't even know about sweetgum and maple looking so similar until this picture!
