Once again another vote for boonie or as of late, a crushable black felt wide brimmed hat when I wish to commune with the spirits of 1970's backpackers!!

If I need a wear a hat, it's going to be the popular U.S made woodland boonie. I waterproofed mine.

Usually I don't wear a hat, since I get extreme "hat hair". Other times it'll vary between the weather, usually a plain baseballcap, simple and effective.

I agree, military bush hats are great, some outdoor stores sell excellent hats for hiking, have a search on the net, I'm sure you'll find something suitable

LOL!!!! I can vouch for that! xP

I am thinking I need a new one too. The Velcro on my Outdoor Research hat is beginning to stick up and jut in me bald head. I am debating on styles though. Either a brim hat, or a regular baseball cap with wicking material. Outdoor Research has a very nice one with vents and stuff for pretty cheap. Thinking I might try that out. Or I can just take that Velcro off my existing hat.....hmmmmm
