Im learnign about asturian music now. its a cross between celtic music and spanish. its pretty interesting.

it really is uplifting, natchez. the best version of they call me crooked jack is by a guy name seamie o'dowd but youtube doesnt seem to have the video of it.

well, actually, Natchez, there alot more truth in that than you might think. all the celtic peoples came from the area around the alps mountains back in the 14th century or so, and they colonozed the islands of great britain pretty much simultaneously. but, for the most part, nowadays, "celtic" refers to the Irish.

and for that matter, why does the penny whistle?

I dont know, but they just DO! its something to do with the deep relationship the celtic folks had with nature, I believe. some deep primordial neural circuitry is activated, I think.
