    late march backpack in colorado

    hi, im new to this site. was wondering if anyone has some info of a good place to start the year early. i know weather is unpredictable, but in general, where is a decent place to go this early.

    late march backpack in colorado

    My general impression is that there'd still be quite a bit of snow in Colorado at that time. Is that state your only option? Mesa Verde comes to mind, but I think they only have day hikes. I'd head for the high deserts of NM, UT, AZ if I were you.

    Colorado just got more snow. We're Spring here!

    BUT..anyplace along the Durango-Silverton drive make incredible backpacking!!
