Good spots in Maine for stargazing???

Everywhere except bangor and portland virgos! I live in Machias, which is a town of roughly 1200 in down east Maine, and I can see the Milky Way! Seriously no matter where you are in Maine, cept Portland and Bangor, you can see so many stars. It is beautiful.

I replied to your other post about renting a cabin near Baxter. That is a great area to see the stars. The best time for stargazing in Maine is during the first two weeks in August when the Posiedan (SP?) meteor shower happens. I literally saw about 20 shooting stars in one night. It is amazing.

I used to live in the cities of Jersey, and let me tell you, it is amazing how many stars are in Maine, there is almost more white than black! Really, no matter where you are in Maine, it is excellent star gazing.

You seem very interested in Maine, if you have any more questions let me know! I would be happy to answer.
