    Metallic taste with trangia

    Gudday.

I have a trangia that I picked up second hand and the previous owner had painted it black for some strange reason. It left a pretty strong chemically/metallic taste in the food so I've since stripped all of the paint off, but I'm still getting a bit of the taste. Is there something about trangias that I should know about in regards to getting rid of this taste? Could it be because of something else? I'm just using metho to cook with.

    Thanks

    Pete

The metallic taste probably isnt from the stove...it might be whatever you are cooking in.

Ive found that using a metal utensil in either aluminum or titanium pots sometimes leaves a metallic taste. I think it has something to do with electolysis.

Could it be residue from the paint or whatever you used to strip it with?
