    Re:Quehanna Trail Pa

    Hey guys,

I just started hiking. I just got a North Face Terra 60 pack. I plan on doing a two night/3 day hike so I've been going on some day hikes with a 20 lb bag (misc items) just to get the feel of hiking with some weight...

...anyhow, the pack has a sleeve/pocket for a water bladder. So i used it...and half way through the hike the bladder sprung a leak. I'm assuming its from the pressure being placed on it from the rest of the gear inside. The bladder isn't new, its a few years old. I took it from my Camelback that i use for biking.

So, my question is...Is this common? do you think the bladder leaked because its old? are there different types to buy so this would be less likely to happen? (if so, any suggestions?)

However, i'm glad I decided to test all this out on a day hike, rather then running into this problem on the trail.

(the reason i asked inside this thread is because it seems that "medicjimr" had a similar problem)

    Thanks.

    Hey Vidder,

I've been using a CamelBak unbottle for years. It's been crammed into full packs and had a lot of abuse without a single leak.

I've done some of the Quehanna trail, before I got my dog, that is. Wide stretch of deep forest, very quiet, very pretty.
I miss it. Natch, too many bears for my dog, who wants to eat one.
