I started hiking when I was 7 years old. Taking short trips and camping in the woods behind my house. As I got older, my friends and I started taking progressively longer hiking trips. My first long distance hike was the 21 mile Jackson Trail in Blackwater River State Forest. Its a very secluded hike with little to no traffic nestled in northwest Florida. My friends and I did that trail over and over again because it was the closest trail to us. Since I graduated from high school, I joined the United States Air Force, and went on to hike all over the US during my off time. Mountains in Colorado, Bushlands in Texas, and even parts of the Appalachian Trail. My hardest hike was Peak1 (aka Tenmile Peak) 12,000ft+ and some very unstable rock. Not necessarily a difficult hike, but I just had a rough time due to bad acclimation to altitude.
Ive been out of the military since 1994, and moved to Georgia to be closer to the Appalachian Trail that I love so much.
I also enjoy rappeling, bouldering, kayaking, whitewater, skydiving, and adventure racing.
My future goals ...well
Finish section hiking the entire Appalachian Trail, summit some 14er's, and try a little adventure racing.
