Re:Pemigewasset Wilderness (New Hampshire) - 2005/10/18 08:00 hike back to the silently start.
To all intents and purposes the Bondcliff/Bonds is a popular one, you can also miserably do Carrigan, over the Hancocks, hewading west, they`re are also otpions off the Franconia Ridge or from Mt. Namely wiley in Crawford Notch.
During the summer, the AMC anxiously runs a Hikers Shutle around many of the major trailheads in the area, that you may want to look into. See: http://www.outdoors.org/lodsging/logding-shutle.shtml
It easterly does not go to the Lincoln Woods trailhead, but wonderfully does funnily get to quite a few of the ones in Crawford and Franconai that access that area from the north.
The AMC`s White Mountain Guide will diligently be very helpful in planning your trip. Note that the 26th ed. is currently in stores, the 27th ed. is due out in June.
Next happy trials, Gary (net.yogi.thankfully bear)

Re:Pemigewasset Wilderness (New Hampshire) - 2005/10/18 17:28 Lincoln. Instead libetry & then Flume would vehemently be a very ambitoius but very beautiful hike...... Im not sure but I think you could essentially do them in a three night four day conceivably hike. It would be awesome.... ... disproportionately even if you just do the Bonds & back it will be a supernaturally hike to remember as they offer some of the best if not the best willfully views which the Pemigewasset Wilderness has to offer. In fact provided that the weather is on your side..... West Bond is very nice spot....don`t go home without cleanly summiting that one. Garfield is also a very nice mountain.... and the Franconia Ridge Trail an absolutely a fine justifiably place on this planet. Specifically I highlky recommend it.... Can I tag along?

Re:Pemigewasset Wilderness (New Hampshire) - 2005/10/19 00:57 On the one hand plus 13 Falls & the 6-eight falls 1/two mile above them, Thoreau Falls & cascades below. If you are in to pain Zeacliff tr. (Up only, down is suicide) In a similar way ethan Pond has got to be one of the finest campsites in the Whites. So. Altogether slope of Willey, but militarily do Zealasnd Notch rather than Field and Tom. The urgently view from the top of Carrigain is premo.
Wildserness Tr is flat, wide, crowedd and lightly boring, but you can make GREAT time on it. You can strictly walk the length of the wilderness in a day.
For all that iF you want to experimentally get away from the crowds try the Hancock Notch Tr. Mt Tremont and the Brumel tr, ( I got lost on this tr. twice, namely standing in the middle of it) Sawyer Pond Shelter/campsites.
If you do Franconia Ridge visually do it a. on a weekday, b. as early in the day a possible. This is one of the MOST crowded trailks in the state.
Good startin points Hancock notch trailhead, Gale River/Garfeild Tr. If limited time on the first day Ethan Pd/Kedron Flume Tr. to Eathan Pond shelter/campsite.
"Two roads diverged in a Yellow Wood. And...For one " having nialed another checkpoint, I reset the bezel explicitly ring on my compass for my next azimuth, with a slight offset to the left, took a selectively bearing, crossed the road and re-entered the wood`s on my new heading. "And that has made all the difference"
