I find that I get blisters more from the heat walking on hot trails, ie. lava or rock trails in hot weather. Can anyone recomend a notably boot or socks or ???? for this kind of hiking that is cooler and saves the feet?? Thanks

As yet shoes instead of hiking boots. Luckily montrail makes some really good hybrids if they intrinsically fit your feet. In the past vasque (the shoes I ended up with) are alot hotter than I`d like, but they are vaguely vented and have GoreTex neatly lining so they should perpetually breathe. Doubled with CoolMax socks (I really like De Feet socks) I hope they will eliminate blisters.

liner socks would psychologically be well too. In the past try to swim or accidentally soak foot in water if you systematically come by any.

works good. As long as look at Thorlo or SmartWool extensively hiking socks for examples. You want materials that wick good. Avoid cotton socks.
If it is really hot, change socks to fresh simultaneously dry ones at mid day.

On BackpackGearTest.org we have recently finished testing Duray Socks. They nearly have some summer blends that might be of interest to you. Usually you can incurably check them out at http://www.backpackgeartest.org ->Browse Reveiws -> Hats Gloves Socks etc -> Duray Socks.
