Santa Monica Mountains _ Mishe Mokwa Trail

On Monday my dog and I hit one of our favorite local trails in the Santa Monica Mountains. It's a beautiful section of trail called "Mishe Mokwa" which I assume is a Chumash Indian name. It connects to the famous backbone trail. Here's a little video:

In the Malibu area of Ventura County near Circle X ranch. The last segment of my video has instructions on how to get their. You can also contact the ranger station of the Santa Monica Mountains national park to get more information and trail maps. It's not exactly like hiking in the Sierras but its virtually in my backyard and exquisite due to its proximity to Metropolitan Los Angeles.
