I am getting married in late July. Me and my fiance are planning on driving from Cincinnati Ohio to Northern California coast for our honeymoon....we have always wanted to see the Redwoods. It will probably take about 3-4 days both there and back but we have 3 weeks total to do it.
I have been researching the area and it is very overwhelming. So many parks that claim to be the best and have the tallest trees. Its hard telling which campgrounds are the best also.
So my questions begin:
Where should I stay? Camping is prefered (tent)...its our honeymoon so somewhere with a very relaxing atmosphere that has a shower. electricty is prefered but it isnt that important.Along the coast would be nice but I cant be too picky!
I want to stay part in south humboldt and part in north so I need 2 spots. (unless someone has a better suggestion)
July is a busy time of year so best reserve early.
What areas have the best hiking spots and are the most note worthy? Which is nicer...southern or nothern Humboldt?
So much to plan! We will have about 2 weeks there.
