hiking boots

I'm looking at buying some Merrell hiking boots in the 100$-125$ range. Any suggestions? They need to be waterproof, and hopefully a year round boot. I live in Wisconsin where it can get cold when out hiking and hot in the summer. If you know of a different brand that you would like to suggest please do so. Thanks to anyone who can help! I appreciate it. (Oh yeah, I will be doing hiking on trails with these, mountain hiking in Missouri, and hiking out west in utah and nevada)
