Anyone have experience with the Montrail Helium GTX? I have to return my first order of boots and was thinking about trying these. Unfortunately I live within driving distance of Campmor, but they only have 3 boots on hand in size 15. So I am forced to do the mail order try out.

i don't have particular experience w/ those shoes, but i've heard TONS of good things about montrails in general. the hardrocks seem to be the most popular trail runner on the AT these days. the gtx, i'm assuming, is gortex and would think twice about getting hiking shoes w/ them. they don't let your feet breath.

Hi, I hope everyone is having a happy labor day. I purchased a pair of Montrail Torre GTX on sale at REI. I did try them on at night as recommended. I know my right foot is slightly larger than my left. I can fit a figure behind my heel but when I try to simulate the downhill by sliding my foot on a rug my big toe seems to touch the front. I don't have many choices in boots because I wear a 15 so is this acceptable? I just got a pair of Hi-tecs for work and they fit perfect, but I know they do not have the sole support I was looking for. Any other suggestions? My charge card is getting tired of all these online orders...lol
